Cross River College of Education buildings destroyed by fire.

At Akparabong, Ikom Local Government Area, Cross River State’s SteadyFlow College of Education, a fire has destroyed academic facilities valued at millions of naira.

The event happened on Monday night.

Ada Agbor, an eyewitness, stated that the fire was caused by a bystander who unintentionally threw away a cigarette filter near a bush near the school’s perimeter fence.

Offices, restrooms, and lecture halls are among the facilities that the fire damaged.
Nonetheless, the school’s founder, Mr. Jones Tangban, a former member of the National Assembly who represented the federal constituency of Boki/Ikom, blamed the fire incidence on careless bush burning.
He made a plea for help to save the school to the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Tangban expressed gratitude to God for sparing no lives.

The academic structure of SteadyFlow College of Education has been completely destroyed by wildfire today. There has been so much destruction.

“The destruction of facilities at the college affects resumption, so we need state and federal government agencies to come to our aid,” he stated.
