The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, and the G5 Governors, according to Benue State’s most recent governor, Samuel Ortom, will back President Bola Tinubu should he run for reelection in 2027.
Ortom delivered a speech on Sunday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at a gathering hosted by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
In the general election of 2023, they declined to support PDP nominee and former vice president Atiku Abubakar for president.

The former governor of Benue claims that Tinubu is an experienced administrator who ought to be given the opportunity to turn around the nation.
“Our leader, Nyesom Wike, has already declared that we are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” Ortom stated.
“Because Nigerians hold that belief, we have nowhere to go. We even let the previous administration, which completely overhauled Nigeria, eight years to operate. Thus, why is it that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a seasoned administrator, hasn’t been able to lead us for eight years?
