A Bauchi State High Court has sentenced a head teacher, Jalaludeen Zakari, to 11 years in prison for sexually abusing a six-year-old child who was present at the school for an admissions screening.
Before attacking the little child, the prisoner is reported to have held her for a few hours after the regular school day.
Barrister Dayabu Ayuba, State Ministry of Justice’s prosecuting attorney, disclosed this during an interview inBauchi.
According to Ayuba, the victim was one of the three witnesses that testified throughout the trial, which resulted in the sentence.
In July of this year, the sentence was carried out following Jalaludeen’s pleading for leniency before the court.
“The offender asked the victim to remain back and dismissed all other students without giving an explanation for her prolonged stay.” The attacker sexually assaulted her while she was left behind, which is legally comparable to rape, he claimed.
