According to Adeleke, the driver was driving from Ibadan to Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
She mentioned that the dead person had purportedly visited the market to purchase cassava peels.
Adeleke continued, saying that as the teacher was attempting to board a motorcycle, a car abruptly crashed into the market, killing him instantly and inciting the residents to erupt into violence.
“A mechanical issue caused the driver of the aforementioned car to lose control while traveling from Ibadan to Osogbo. A teacher in an Odeomu school in the Obada Area was the casualty.
“As the victim tried to get on a motorcycle after purchasing cassava peels from the Obada Market, the automobile struck him.
“The driver of the car apparently fled the site of the Tuesday accident, and as soon as it was verified that the victim had died, the car was set on fire by irate neighbors.
It’s still unclear where the driver is,” he stated.
According to Adeleke, Osun NSCDC State Commandant Michael Adaralewa also pleaded with citizens to support law enforcement in maintaining the state’s roads safe by following the law.
