Tuesday saw a small-scale drama in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, when a group of ladies invaded the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company’s office to voice their disapproval of the ongoing power outage. The women from Diobu, Port Harcourt’s Mile 2 and Mile 3 axis blocked the PHED office near Isaac Boro Park, claiming that their husbands didn’t spend much time with them at night because of the extreme heat waves brought on by the epileptic power supply.

Before going to the PHED office to voice their disapproval, the demonstrators with placards marched along many of Diobu’s main streets, including Wokoma, Dim, WokoLaneane, Obaziolu, DLaneane, Egbuagu, Azikiwe, and Ojoto Streets.
