According to the information it obtained, hoodlums kidnapped Emezue on the same date at around 7 p.m. as he was in his wife’s car at a gas station in Umuekwu Amachara, Umuahia South Local Government Area of the State.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor was pulled into a Lexus SUV by the thugs, who then took his wife’s ATM card and fled.
The Command gave the assurance that it was putting resources and assets—such as technological assistance and intelligence—to work in order to solve the crime and securely free the victim from his kidnappers.
“We implore the people of Abuja to keep composure and carry on with their lawful business while being alert and mindful of their safety.
In addition, the Command stated, “We further request the public’s cooperation, particularly in the form of any helpful information that may be helpful in these specific circumstances, as well as in attaining enhanced security in the state, generally.”
