The KAP Film and Television Academy, founded by well-known Nigerian director Kunle Afolayan, in collaboration with Netflix and the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts, is where Omajuwa finished her on-site master’s degree.
A thorough curriculum and practical instruction from seasoned industry professionals are two ways that the KAP Film and Television Academy, an educational institution focused on film production, equips budding filmmakers with industry knowledge.
Filmmaking is an art that demands sufficient attention to details, consistency, and deep thinking. Mr. Kunle Afolayan, the academy’s founder, cautioned the students at the graduation to put their newly acquired skills to good use. He also asked them to be meticulous in their work and pay attention to the smallest details when practicing what they have learned.
He went on to discuss the importance of sound in movies and how it can portray emotions like tension, anxiety, terror, joy, and rage to audiences of all sizes.
The audience’s senses are being more stimulated by what they hear even as they watch. Stated differently, movies are pieces of art that are best viewed in their entirety.
Every stage of the filmmaking process, no matter how small, is equally important and cannot be skipped.
Omajuwa thanked God in a message on her Instagram page for enabling her to finish the program and become a licensed film producer.
