Fully Funded University of Miami Stamps Scholarship for Exceptional Students The Stamps Scholarship is the most prestigious merit award offered to students at the University of Miami (UM). This scholarship is specifically designed for outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements. Stamps Scholars are granted a merit award that covers the full cost of attendance for four years of undergraduate study at UM. The scholarship includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing, a meal plan, University health insurance, textbooks, a laptop allowance, and access to a $12,000 enrichment fund. The enrichment fund can be utilized for various educational pursuits such as study abroad programs, undergraduate research, unpaid internships, and other approved activities (subject to prior approval by the Office of the Provost).

The Stamps Scholarship offers additional benefits, including membership in the Stamps Scholars on-campus and national communities, funding for academic and scientific research projects, cultural and leadership programs, study abroad opportunities, participation in conventions and regional conferences, as well as invitations to online events and networking opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who apply for early admission to UM through Early Decision I or Early Action are automatically considered for the Stamps Scholarship. To be eligible, they must submit all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1.

Selection Process

Selected candidates who qualify as semi-finalists for the Stamps Scholarship are required to write a short response to a specific essay prompt. Finalists will be chosen based on a thorough review of their applications and supporting documents, including their essay responses. The finalists will be notified of their status upon admission to UM in late January.

Subsequently, the finalists will undergo an interview conducted by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation. The recipients of the Stamps Scholarship will be announced by early March.

Terms and Conditions

To maintain the Stamps Scholarship, recipients must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program, taking at least 12 credit hours during each fall and spring semester, totaling a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. A minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained at UM, with the initial calculation made at the end of the second semester of attendance. The award is subject to revision if additional grants, scholarships, or prepaid tuition and/or housing aid are received, which were not anticipated at the time the award was granted.
