This action came after widespread rumors circulated that Achimugu was spending her fiftieth birthday on the Caribbean island of Grenada among friends and well-known individuals, such as Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu clarified that his travel was part of talks on bilateral relations between Grenada and Lagos State by releasing pictures of himself in Grenada presenting a tiny version of the Blue Line train to Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Michelle, refuting reports that his visit was for the birthday celebration.

During Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visit to Grenada, the two leaders had conversations about tourism, agriculture, and other economic concerns. Prime Minister Michelle addressed Grenada’s forthcoming 50th anniversary celebration in February, in addition to attending social events.

At Calivigny Island, an 80-acre private venue that costs roughly $132,000 per night, Achimugu celebrated his birthday. According to reports, the organizers paid an additional fee of approximately $924,000 to rent the island for seven days.

Arriving visitors began the festivities on January 16 and left on January 23, culminating in an all-white breakfast, a sumptuous supper with a “glitz and glam” theme, and a farewell to Grenada.

Achimugu, the Managing Director of Felak Concept Group, described herself as the most well-liked person in the world in response to media attention. She did not apologize in a statement for celebrating her birthday, saying instead that Nigerians ought to “expect more.”

She informed those who sincerely expressed concern that she was OK and in good spirits despite the media attention. She highlighted her casual demeanor, saying that she is enjoying her celebration with people who truly love her and have supported her throughout the years.
