An agreement between the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO) has paved the way for up to 50 students/scholars from developing countries to receive sponsorship for doctoral degrees in China, spanning a maximum of 4 years.
The ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents, established in 2019, aims to foster and train young scientists globally.
Annually, the scholarship supports 200 Master’s students and 300 PhD students, enabling them to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), or various institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) across China.
Applicants must:
– Not hold Chinese citizenship.
– Be nationals of eligible developing countries in the South (refer to Developing Countries in the South | TWAS).
– Demonstrate proficiency in English or Chinese.
– For PhD program applicants: be born after January 1, 1989 (inclusive).
– Meet the admission criteria for international students at USTC/UCAS.
– Refrain from taking other assignments during the scholarship period.
Applicants currently pursuing a doctoral degree at any university/institution in China are ineligible for this scholarship’s PhD program.
Applying while currently enrolled will result in disqualification and reporting of the situation to the present university/institution.
Simultaneous application to both USTC and UCAS for the ANSO Scholarship is prohibited. Doing so will result in disqualification from admission.
