Gunmen recently stormed Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar’s family house in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, taking with them her father, four sisters, and cousin.

After releasing their father, the abductors demanded ₦60 million in ransom before January 12, 2023.

However, the terrorists killed Nabeeha and left her remains for her parents to bury after the family was unable to raise the ransom.

However, the president’s wife asked Nigerians to pray for the safe return of the remaining girls who are in the terrorists’ possession amidst the outcry that followed the death of the 21-year-old graduate.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, Tinubu expressed his condolences to the bereaved family via a tweet.

“I acknowledge Nabeeha’s tragic passing with heavy heart and offer my sincere condolences to her bereaved family. I implore the country to join me in ardent prayers for the safe return of young girls during trying times like these,” she said.

The First Lady further asked security services to step up their efforts to combat kidnapping and insecurity in the nation, stressing that their top concern should be ensuring the safety of Nabeeha’s siblings.

Let us pray for the families who are dear to our hearts. I beseech our security services to step up their efforts to deal with the urgent issues of kidnappings and unrest in our country. Our top priority should be the safety and prompt release of the Al-Kadriyar sisters and other hostages.

“I ask parents, especially moms, to pray more fervently for our kids and for peace to reign supreme in our dear nation. May the All-Powerful God provide the Al-Kadriyar family peace in their loss and ensure the safe return of the remaining children to their homes. The Federal Republic of Nigeria is blessed by God.

Nigerians have been talking a lot about the increasing number of kidnappings in the nation lately since the abductors are still killing victims and demanding money.
