The 2024 Budget was approved by the House of Representatives, surpassing President Bola Tinubu’s first plan by over N1 trillion.
During the special session of the House on Saturday, the budget was raised from N27.5 trillion to N28.7 trillion, as suggested by President Tinubu.
To discuss Abubakar Bichi’s report from the Committee on Appropriations, the parliamentarians convened a special session on Saturday.
The House then passed the budget after debating the report.
To maintain the January-December budget cycle, the budget has to be signed by the President in the next twenty-four hours.
