Human Resource Officer/Administrative Officer

Main function: provision of support in all human resource functions which includes participating in recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counseling.
Reports to: The Hotel Consultant
SPECIFIC DUTIES & ACTIVITIES
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Human Resource Management and any other assigned role.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES
Assists in the interviewing and hiring of staffs with the appropriate skills as needed.
Conducting training of staffs on basic hotel SOP.
Carrying out analytical writing in given topics.
Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place for all staffs.
Ensure that staffs employee documents are well documented.
Carry-out background checks on staffs.
Identify training and development opportunities.
Monitor daily attendance.
Investigate causes for staff absences and recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties.
Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions.
Prepare notices and advertisements for vacant staff positions.
Once approval is given Schedule, organize and conduct interviews.
Conduct reference checks on possible candidates.
Conducts exit interviews.
Good knowledge of human resources administration.
Good knowledge of performance review methods and techniques.
Excellent use of excel, PowerPoint presentation and Microsoft word.
Ability to undertake staff training on basic SOP.
Ability to delegate, mentor and coach.
An understanding of relevant HR legislation, policies and procedures.
Good supervisory skills.
Good team building skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Basic counselling skills.
Understanding human psychology.
