Boston, A US City, Proclaims March 2 As “Burna Boy’s Day.”

In honor of the Nigerian singer, March 2nd has been designated as “Burna Boy’s Day” by the city of Boston in Massachusetts, USA. This was stated in a Boston City Council document that Councillor Ruthzee Louijeune signed. The document states that Burna Boy received recognition for his “advocacy works and performances.

“The variety of cultural events, festivals, and community projects that highlight the city’s multicultural landscape and: demonstrate Boston’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating culture and diversity.

While Burna Boy’s legacy reminds us of the possibilities and encourages us to keep raising the voices of those who have long been marginalized or ignored, the matter is now resolved as follows: that Burna Boy Day will be observed on March 2, 2024, in the City of Boston.” Burna Boy has held so many soldout shows in Boston since breaking into the international scene in 2018.
