Alibaba: Most of the jokes said by Nigerian comedians are mine.

Alibaba, a well-known veteran comedian, has asserted that he wrote the majority of the jokes told by Nigerian comedians.

Despite repurposing his gags, some performers believe the “King of Comedy” hasn’t done much for the comic profession, he said.

Actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, better known as Deity Cole and Husband Material, co-hosts of The Honest Bunch Podcast, recently featured him on the show.

“Sometimes people will say I am not helping, but four out of five jokes you are telling are mine,” Alibaba stated.

In this instance, in Warri, someone brought dogs and cutlasses and urged the victim, “When you finish, come down,” in an attempt to extinguish their light. That joke was mine from 1988. They then made it into a skit.

“My jokes have inspired a number of skits that are currently in circulation.”

He counseled comedians and creators of skits to always give credit to the people who came up with the original ideas for their material.
