According to the source, President Bola Tinubu suspended her from office due to a contentious N585.189 million transfer to a private bank account, which prompted the invitation.
On Monday, Tinubu gave Edu an immediate office suspension and gave the EFCC instructions to thoroughly look into the ministry’s operations.
Less than half an hour after President Tinubu announced the minister’s suspension from office, she received the invitation.
The source claims that the EFCC had previously suggested the minister be suspended in order to allow for a full probe.
According to the source, the suspension of the minister would allow the panel to fully carry out the president’s instructions.
“The commission has already sent an official invitation to her.
The insider continued, “We expect her to accept the invitation and visit the commission on Tuesday to provide appropriate insight into the matter at hand.
