Aiyedatiwa characterized the former governor’s passing as a huge loss for the entire country, not only for Akeredolu’s family and Ondo State.
He remarked that because everyone in the state was somehow related to him, not only the government but also all of the state’s sons and daughters were in grief at the moment.
The governor stated that in Nigerian history, Akeredolu was one voice that would not be easily forgotten.
He described the former governor as a remarkable man of courage who, no matter the circumstances surrounding the topic, always bravely pursued his conviction.
Because of the visible legacies he left behind in Ondo State, we will never be able to forget him.
“In the domains of safety, preservation of life and property, welfare of individuals, advancement of infrastructure, health, and education, to name a few,” he declared.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the former governor gave his all to God, his loved ones, friends, Ondo State, and his career.
“Everyone is aware of the former governor’s affiliation with Christianity, specifically with the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.
He was the diocese’s chancellor and made significant contributions to the growth of the church.
Because God brings the saints home when it pleases him, we believe that he is the author of life. The death of God’s saints is precious to him.
“He has accomplished his goals, led a meaningful life, and had a significant influence. As his followers, we ought to be praying for the ability to accomplish what he did while he was still living.
“We believe that a crown is waiting for him in heaven based on what we have seen as his followers, and I think we will see him again on the day of resurrection in his glorified body.
“We have come to offer our condolences to the family on behalf of the government and the good people of Ondo state.” We wish to express our sympathy and solidarity with you on the passing of our beloved leader,” he uttered.
Pastor Kola Akeredolu, the deceased’s younger brother, spoke on behalf of the family and praised the governor for showing them affection.
He assured that the visit would not be taken for granted by the family.
