Nigerian Navy Opens Applications for Direct Short Service Commission Course 29 (Apply Here)

The Nigerian Navy has officially announced the commencement of online registration for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for various positions. The application period spans from December 27, 2023, to February 7, 2024. This opportunity is aimed at recruiting qualified individuals into the Nigerian Navy through the DSSC program.

Medical disciplines: Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons, Pharmacists, Medical Lab Scientists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers, Optometrists, and more are among the competent experts in the medical disciplines that the Navy is looking for.

Engineering: Applications are welcomed from candidates with training in Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Naval Architecture/Ship Design, and Marine Engineering (Mechanical and Electrical).

Information and communication technology: Applicants are encouraged to apply if they have a degree in computer science or computer engineering and have expertise in networking, programming, software development, cyber security, or related fields.

Legal Service: Applicants for positions in the Legal Service must have BL and LLB degrees; candidates with an LLM in Forensic, International, or Maritime Law will be given special consideration.

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, and false information is strongly discouraged.
  • Minimum educational requirements include Second Class Upper Division for first-degree holders and Upper Credit for HND holders.
  • Computer literacy is an added advantage.
  • Certificates must be fully registered with relevant professional bodies, and foreign credentials should be authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Education.
  • NYSC discharge or exemption is mandatory.
  • Age requirements are between 22 and 28 years old, not exceeding 30 for Medical Officers.
  • Height requirements are 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females.
