Role Overview

We are seeking a Remote Multimedia Editor to lead the creation and development of engaging visual and audio content that enhances our editorial work and amplifies our impact. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with reporters and editors to brainstorm and develop multimedia content (including videos, podcasts, infographics).
• Create detailed storyboards and production plans that reflect editorial direction and brand identity.
• Shoot, direct, and edit both short-form and long-form videos for news features, explainers, and social platforms.
• Enhance visuals with motion graphics, captions, and animations to increase clarity and viewer engagement.
• Oversee podcast recordings, edit interviews, and produce high-quality final episodes.
• Handle audio mixing and mastering to ensure consistency and accessibility, including transcript integration.
• Design and produce interactive graphics and data visualisations that simplify complex issues.
• Collaborate with developers to seamlessly embed multimedia elements within the CMS.
• Adapt content for cross-platform distribution (website, mobile apps, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram).
• Ensure content complies with technical and editorial standards, including resolution, audio quality, and platform specifications.
• Uphold WikkiTimes’ aesthetic and editorial tone across all content formats.
• Work alongside editorial, design, and product teams to align multimedia content with broader newsroom goals.
• Mentor junior producers and freelancers, offering constructive feedback on both creative and technical aspects.
• Monitor engagement metrics (e.g., watch time, views, completion rates) and gather user feedback.
• Use insights and analytics to continuously improve content strategies and storytelling techniques.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3–5 years of experience in multimedia production or editing, particularly within digital media, journalism, or creative agencies.
• Proficient in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, or Final Cut Pro; basic familiarity with HTML/CSS is an added advantage.
• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to simplify and visualize complex topics.
• Keeps pace with emerging formats (AR/VR, livestreams) and social media platform trends.
