The management of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has officially announced a massive recruitment exercise for both academic and non-academic staff positions.
In a public notice titled “Vacancy Advertisement,” the university confirmed that it is currently accepting online applications from qualified candidates across various faculties and departments.
“This is a great opportunity for talented Nigerians to join a growing academic community,” the statement noted.
Academic Staff Positions Available
Interested applicants can apply for any of the six academic staff ranks, which include:
- Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2)
- Lecturer II (CONUASS 3)
- Lecturer I (CONUASS 4)
- Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5)
- Associate Professor (CONUASS 6)
- Professor (CONUASS 7)
To be eligible for the Assistant Lecturer role, candidates must possess a Master’s degree with at least a 3.50 CGPA on a 5.0 scale. Accepted fields include:
- Accountancy (with ACCA/ACA)
- Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- Law (LLB + BL)
- Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
- Engineering (B.Eng + COREN), among others.
For positions such as Lecturer II and Lecturer I, applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree with substantial teaching and research experience, along with multiple academic publications.
“Publications must be traceable and in circulation,” the university emphasized.
Candidates from the industry sector with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience and a strong academic profile are also encouraged to apply for the Lecturer I position.
Higher Academic Roles
Applicants for Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor positions must hold a Ph.D., possess several years of relevant experience from a recognized university, and have between 6 to 18 academic publications.
The university clearly stated: “Only publications in recognised universities or equivalent institutions will be considered.”

- HND, B.Sc., or B.Tech in Science Laboratory Technology
- NYSC discharge certificate
