In order to establish a new GWR, Faila started a cook-a-thon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale on January 1, 2024.

Celebrities from Ghana, such as Asamoah Gyan and Stephen Appiah, the former Black Star football players, supported Faila during the effort.

Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana, wrote about the attempt on his Facebook page and gave the chef 30,000 Ghanaian cedis (£1,981).

In an effort to surpass Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s record of 93 hours and 11 minutes, Faila is aiming to surpass the mark set by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
