The Lagos State Government has officially opened applications for the Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2025, targeted at young Nigerian graduates. This one-year fellowship was launched by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and is designed to provide transformative, non-partisan, and merit-based opportunities to exceptional young Nigerians passionate about making a difference in their generation.

Program Objective
The Fellowship is designed to nurture future leaders by equipping them with essential skills that enable them to influence public service positively. Through direct mentorship and practical on-the-job training, the program also promotes the ethics and values of effective leadership.

What to Expect
Participants in the Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2025 will gain direct exposure to the inner workings of state-level governance. Fellows will engage in roundtable discussions with distinguished leaders across public and private sectors and participate in both domestic and international policy visits.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience
- Be under 35 years of age
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree
- Have completed NYSC or possess an exemption letter
Duration and Benefits
The Fellowship spans one year and offers the following opportunities:
1. Work Experience
Fellows will shadow Lagos State Cabinet members, rotating roles six months into the program.
2. Leadership Development
This includes Brown-Bag Series, Fireside Chats, Leadership Seminars, Personalized Coaching, and continuous feedback to foster leadership growth.
3. Community Service
Fellows will design and implement impactful, community-focused leadership projects. Each cohort will collaborate on a transformative initiative that improves the lives of Lagosians, to be completed within the program year.
4. Fellowship Network
A robust alumni network of high-potential individuals will emerge, offering peer-to-peer mentoring and learning opportunities aimed at building national unity, social consciousness, and a shared vision.
