Job Title: Project Accountant

Description
Our client is seeking a candidate with comprehensive knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory matters related to financial reporting. The ideal candidate should also be skilled in the use of spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel, among others.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets to ensure expenditures remain within approved limits.
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports covering project expenses, revenues, and forecasts for stakeholders.
- Record and reconcile all project-related expenses, invoices, and payments in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure project financial activities comply with accounting standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements, while supporting audits when required.
- Analyze financial data to evaluate project profitability, identify variances, assess risks, and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA are an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project cost management.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, and MS Excel, as well as project management tools.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- High level of accuracy in financial records, with strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
