Position Summary

Business Insider Africa is seeking a Researcher/Scriptwriter to join its team. This role involves working with our in-house video team to create compelling and engaging videos that resonate with our audience and clients while aligning with marketing strategies and objectives.

The ideal candidate should have a strong ability to conduct in-depth research and craft creative, engaging narratives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research and develop scripts for Business Insider’s internal projects and client campaigns.

Write compelling video documentary scripts.

Research trending business topics for video and podcast content.

Develop podcast scripts and question guides.

Fact-check all information used in video scripts.

Contribute to new video format development and implementation.

Assist in pre-production activities as required.

Prioritize multiple projects effectively to meet deadlines.

Ensure proper organization and safekeeping of research documents.

Build strong, trusting relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Desired Skills & Experience

2–3 years of experience in research and scriptwriting for branded video content.

Proven portfolio of video scriptwriting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides, etc.).

Highly organized, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Energetic, passionate, and enthusiastic.

On-screen presenting experience is a plus.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Tech Manager to oversee website content, ensure its accuracy, optimize for SEO, and enhance user experience. This role includes tracking support requests, analyzing website performance, collaborating with the development team, and implementing content optimization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain the performance of Pulse and client websites, ensuring accessibility and functionality.

Conduct regular checks for broken links, errors, and performance issues.

Manage website content, ensuring it is up-to-date and well-organized.

Train website users via webinars, manuals, and ongoing support.

Track and log user-reported issues and generate performance reports.

Collaborate with the development team on enhancements and feature updates.

Conduct keyword research and optimize on-page SEO elements.

Implement off-page SEO strategies, including backlink management.

Work with content creators to ensure SEO-optimized content.

Monitor website analytics, track key metrics, and generate reports.

Develop a help guide documentation manual for backend users.

Stay updated on SEO trends and implement improvements.

Occasionally work weekends to meet deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Design, or a related field preferred.

At least two years of work experience.

Knowledge of web analytics and SEO.

Familiarity with web standards and website management tools.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, and CMS.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
