Job Title: Senior Planner (Civil Engineering)

Job Summary
The Senior Engineering Planner will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing project schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage complex and multiple project schedules
- Monitor and track project progress using planning software such as Primavera P6
- Analyze project risks, prepare detailed planning reports, and coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery
- Create and maintain master project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), variances, and baseline schedules
- Track actual progress against planned schedules and forecast completion dates
- Produce progress reports, S-curves, cash flow projections, forecasts, and critical path analysis (CPA)
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, support claims and dispute resolution through data analysis (EOT and delay analysis)
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients, and vendors
- Train, mentor, and support junior planning engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in planning/scheduling within construction or engineering projects
- PMP certification is highly preferred

Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP
- Maintain and review general ledger accounts
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare variance and financial analysis reports
Construction & Project Accounting
- Manage job cost accounting for multiple projects
- Prepare WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion calculations
- Track progress billings, retainage, and change orders
- Ensure proper revenue recognition
Accounts, Compliance & Audit
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Support cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Assist with internal and external audits
Leadership
- Mentor junior accounting staff
- Partner with project managers and leadership teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–10 years of accounting experience
- 3–5 years of construction or project accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with construction accounting software
Preferred
- CPA or CMA certification
