Job Title: International Trade Officer
Location: Amuwo Odofin, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Managing Director

Job Overview
The International Trade Officer will be in charge of overseeing and expanding our export operations.
Key responsibilities include coordinating international trade shows, managing global sales teams, ensuring adherence to international trade standards, and improving export logistics.
The right candidate will possess significant experience in international trade, sales, and compliance within the food production industry.

Key Responsibilities

Market Expansion & Sales Coordination

  • Research and sign up for international exhibitions, ensuring complete preparation and participation.
  • Hire and manage global sales reps, tracking their performance and setting goals.
  • Identify and pursue potential clients through targeted research and lead generation.
  • Follow up on leads from exhibitions and other global sales avenues.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Research import requirements for destination countries and confirm company readiness.
  • Ensure the company meets global food safety and quality standards including BRCGS, IFS, ISO, and relevant certifications.
  • Stay current on international trade rules, tariffs, and export documentation.

Export Logistics & Operations

  • Supervise local export processes, ensuring smooth and timely container shipments.
  • Work closely with production and logistics teams to align export needs with manufacturing schedules.
  • Streamline shipping operations to cut costs and boost efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B), International Business, Trade, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a commercial lawyer.
  • Solid understanding of international trade laws, documentation, and compliance – highly preferred.
  • Experience handling international trade shows and managing global sales teams is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Fluent in English, preferably with a UK or US accent.
