The Kickstart Entrepreneurship Program is a flagship initiative by International Breweries PLC, operated through its charitable arm, the International Breweries Foundation. This program is designed to empower young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35.

Through the Kickstart Program, young entrepreneurs receive business grants, hands-on training, and mentorship to help start or grow their businesses. Participants can access funding of up to ₦3 million. The program supports various sectors including Agriculture, Retailing, Circular Packaging, Renewable Energy, and others.

The goal of the Kickstart Program is to tackle youth unemployment by equipping young people with business skills and support to run successful ventures. With access to mentors and business training, selected applicants will be able to scale their ideas and create employment for others.

Now in its 10th year, the Kickstart Entrepreneurship Program began in 2016 in the Southwest and Southeast regions of Nigeria. Since 2019, it has grown into a national initiative available to young people in all six geopolitical zones. The program has also been successfully implemented in other African countries like South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Tanzania.

To participate in the Kickstart Program, eligible applicants must complete and submit the application form.


Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Kickstart Entrepreneurship Program, you must:

  • Be 18 to 35 years old
  • Be able to speak and write in English
  • Reside in Nigeria and operate your business within the country
  • Own a business in one of the following sectors:
    • Agriculture (e.g., rice, maize, or sorghum farming)
    • Retailing (especially businesses that sell International Breweries products)
    • Circular Packaging
    • Renewable Energy
    • Or other sectors accepted by the program
  • Have a business that is 0 to 3 years old
