Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials at the best possible price, terms, and timing while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business demands to develop an efficient inventory replenishment plan, source reliable suppliers, and secure cost-effective purchases.
- Regularly assess and negotiate pricing, specifications, and contract terms with suppliers to optimize procurement.
- Monitor market trends and external factors (e.g., weather conditions) influencing product costs, particularly for critical raw materials.
- Continuously update product cost components to identify potential cost-saving strategies.
- Follow procurement SOPs to ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and prevent operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate seamless delivery and customs clearance processes.
- Process shipping documents and ensure the timely arrival of goods for production use.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- HND / B.Sc in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or Upper Credit is required.
- 1–2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in English and Hausa.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
