We are currently recruiting for the following positions:


Job Title: Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) Specialist II

Locations: Lagos & Rivers

Job Overview:

The SSHE Specialist plays a key role in supporting one or more areas of safety, security, health, or environmental management within an affiliate. This role requires subject matter expertise in one or more fields and the ability to influence the field organization without formal authority. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational and maintenance skills while effectively interacting with operations, manufacturing, pipeline, and other field organizations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to all Level 1 tasks, Level 2 responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the workforce in implementing SSHE processes, safety instructions, and hazard management strategies while ensuring compliance with project plans and company policies.
  • Encouraging and promoting workforce participation in SSHE initiatives.
  • Identifying and resolving SSHE-related issues at project sites proactively.
  • Participating in contractor qualification processes and supporting SSHE activities as required by the SSHE Lead.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on project-specific procedures and manuals.
  • Managing, inspecting, and maintaining critical SHE equipment, including fire response, oil spill response, gas detection, and life-saving equipment.
  • Reviewing the annual ERT drill program and providing feedback to relevant teams.
  • Communicating Emergency Response Plans to emergency response teams and key personnel.
  • Coordinating emergency response efforts alongside the On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) during emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage risks confidently.
  • Proficiency in emergency preparedness, incident investigation, operations integrity, and risk assessment.
  • Prior experience in safety-related positions, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to drive SSHE excellence and foster collaborative internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • No formal training will be provided beyond company-specific safety standards and procedures.

Salary:

N750,000 – N1,000,000 per month

The role involves identifying business opportunities, developing relevant technologies, and applying new or existing technologies to improve overall performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments to evaluate equipment lifespan.
