The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, established by Decree No. 33 on July 25th, 1979, is dedicated to offering high-quality education through a variety of full-time and part-time courses in technology, applied sciences, commerce, and management. We are seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions:

 

Job Title: Registrar
Location: Adamawa

Job Description:
The Registrar is a key Principal Officer responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic. The role involves managing the Registry Department and ensuring that all institutional documentation is properly maintained. The Registrar will serve as Secretary to the Governing Council, the Academic Board, and other committees as required by the Rector.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Educational Background: The ideal candidate must hold a First Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities, or any other related discipline from an accredited higher institution. Alternatively, candidates with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit in the relevant fields are also eligible.
– Professional Experience: Applicants must possess a minimum of 18 years of post-qualification experience for those with a First Degree or HND. For candidates with a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 15 years of cognate experience is required, while applicants with a Doctorate (Ph.D.) must have at least 12 years of experience. Out of this experience, at least 10 years must have been spent in an administrative capacity within a Polytechnic or similar Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.
– Current Role: The candidate must currently hold the rank of Deputy Registrar and must have served in this capacity for no less than five years in a recognized Polytechnic or related institution.
– ICT Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in the use of modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and software that support administrative functions in an academic environment.
– Age Requirement: Applicants should be no older than 59 years of age as of the date of this advertisement.
– Administrative and Leadership Skills: The candidate must possess excellent administrative leadership skills, demonstrating creativity in policy formulation, effective human relations, and the ability to manage teams. Evidence of a strong capacity to lead, innovate, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment is essential.
– Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with the Public Service Rules and Regulations that govern polytechnic systems is required. The candidate should also be knowledgeable in implementing these rules in an administrative context.
– Professional Affiliations: Candidates must provide proof of membership in one or more recognized professional bodies relevant to the position.
– Integrity and Character: The successful applicant must exhibit impeccable moral character, a high degree of integrity, and be free from financial embarrassment or criminal record.
– Physical and Mental Fitness: Candidates must be in good health, as certified by a government hospital, to handle the physical and mental demands of the job.

Term of Appointment:
– The appointment is for a single five-year tenure, which is non-renewable. The salary is consolidated, and the appointee will be entitled to additional benefits as determined by the Federal Government and applicable to Principal Officers of Federal Polytechnics.

Job Title: Director, Works & Engineering Services
Location: Adamawa

Job Description:
The Director of Works & Engineering Services is responsible for the overall management and coordination of all construction, maintenance, and engineering services at the Polytechnic. This position reports directly to the Rector and oversees the physical development of the institution, including general maintenance services and transportation.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Additional academic qualifications such as a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field will be considered an advantage.
– Professional Certifications: Applicants must be registered with professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Membership in these bodies is mandatory to ensure adherence to industry standards.
– Work Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification cognate experience, particularly within the tertiary education sector. Experience in handling large-scale construction projects, facilities management, and infrastructure development is highly desirable.
– ICT Skills: Applicants must be proficient in the use of relevant computer software applications used in engineering and project management to ensure efficient service delivery.
– Health Status: The candidate must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the role and will need to provide certification of good health from a government-approved hospital.
– Personal Attributes: The candidate must be a person of high integrity, known for their transparent dealings in both public and private capacities. They should be open to new ideas and be willing to incorporate innovative solutions to enhance the Polytechnic’s infrastructure in line with its vision and mission.

– Salary is at CONTEDISS 15, with other conditions as stipulated by the Federal Polytechnic’s Governing Council and in line with the Federal Government’s regulations for such appointments.

Job Title: Director, Physical Planning & Development
Location: Adamawa

Job Description:
The Director of Physical Planning & Development is responsible for the comprehensive management of all infrastructural development projects at the Polytechnic. This role ensures the quality and standard of all physical structures and is accountable to the Rector.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building, Urban & Regional Planning, or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. A higher qualification such as a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. is an advantage.
– Professional Certifications: Applicants must be registered members of relevant professional bodies in their field, demonstrating their adherence to industry standards and ethics.
– Work Experience: A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification cognate experience is required, particularly in physical planning, infrastructure management, or development roles within tertiary institutions. Experience in managing large-scale construction projects in an educational setting is critical.
– ICT Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the use of modern ICT tools and software that facilitate the management and execution of physical planning projects.
– Health Status: The candidate must be certified by a government hospital as physically and mentally fit for the position.
– Personal Attributes: Applicants should demonstrate high levels of integrity, transparency, and a commitment to the institution’s development objectives. They must also be receptive to new ideas and possess the ability to translate these ideas into actionable strategies.

Term of Appointment:
– Salary is at CONTEDISS 15, and other terms are as stipulated by the Federal Polytechnic’s Governing Council in accordance with Federal Government directives.

Job Title: Director, Medical Services
Location: Adamawa

Job Description:
The Director of Medical Services oversees the operations of the Polytechnic’s Clinic, ensuring that healthcare services are delivered efficiently to staff and students. The Director will report to the Rector and is responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of medical personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Educational Background: Candidates must hold a degree in Medicine (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification and must have completed a recognized residency program. Possession of a higher qualification such as a Master’s degree or a relevant postgraduate diploma is an advantage.
– Professional Certifications: The candidate must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and must have an updated yearly license. In addition, they should have completed postgraduate training that leads to a fellowship of the National or West African College of Physicians or Surgeons.
– Work Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a tertiary institution, with advanced training in a medical or surgical specialty. This experience should include managing healthcare services in an educational environment.
– ICT Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and ICT tools that aid in medical management and healthcare delivery is required.
– Health Status: The candidate must provide proof of good physical and mental health from a government hospital to ensure their capacity to fulfill the job requirements.
– Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate should be of high integrity and must demonstrate transparency and accountability in both their professional and personal dealings. They must also be open to new ideas and willing to align their vision with the Polytechnic’s mission.
