Key Responsibilities – 2025 Wärtsilä Marine Graduate Engineering Trainee

  • Undergo comprehensive training across different departments at Wärtsilä’s Operations & Maintenance (O&M) sites.
  • Gain hands-on experience in core functional areas, including Electrical, Mechanical, and Operator roles.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge about the company and actively participate in On-the-Job Training (OJT).
  • Engage in team meetings, workshops, and team-building exercises.
  • Document learning experiences, maintain logs, and take notes on key insights.
  • Conduct research, assist supervisors or managers, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Evaluate existing systems and propose innovative ideas for enhancement.
  • Participate in assessments, including tests and monthly report submissions, to track progress throughout the program.
  • Undergo a structured one-year training program focused on job-specific skills.
  • Learn the operation and maintenance of power plants in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including isolation, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and emergency protocols to ensure the protection of personnel and equipment.
  • Optimize the use of tools, equipment, and accessories to extend their operational lifespan.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc, B.Tech, or B.Eng) in Electrical & Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Completion of the NYSC program is mandatory.
  • Candidates must have no more than three years of post-NYSC experience.
