The record set by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, who cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes in May of this year, had been surpassed at the time by Irish chef Fisher.

After Baci broke the record this year, it shot to new heights of notoriety, and now many chefs are vying to do the same. At the time, Baci was receiving a great deal of support from politicians, influencers, and celebrities. Tiwa Savage, a popular musician, and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also made appearances at the venue to show support. Baci soared to the top of the nation’s Twitter trend table that entire May weekend.
