Program Overview

With ₦150 million in prizes, the Wema Bank Hackathon 6.0 Program is a youth-centered competition designed to support innovators and startup founders with tech-enabled or tech-driven breakthrough ideas and products. The goal is to empower them to grow and rapidly scale their ventures.

This innovative initiative is powered by Wema Bank/ALAT, one of Nigeria’s most digital-forward financial institutions. Following the success of five previous editions, the 6th edition, themed “Re-imagined”, is now live.

Eligibility Criteria

Anyone can apply for the 2025 WEMA Bank Hackaholics Program — whether you’re a young entrepreneur, a professional, or a student.

No programming background is required, and you don’t need a Computer Science degree to be eligible.

Programme Structure

Stage 1: Application Phase

This is where the journey starts! Developers, designers, and problem-solvers across Nigeria are invited to apply.

Stage 2: Regional Preliminaries

Shortlisted teams will battle it out in various regions, working under expert mentorship to fine-tune their solutions.

Stage 3: Final Day Demo

Top teams from the preliminaries will pitch their innovations before a panel of judges, which includes executives and tech industry leaders.

Stage 4: Grand Finale

Winners will receive cash prizes, mentorship, and funding. Outstanding ideas may also be selected for further development in collaboration with Wema Bank.
